Hope (Brigantine) logbook, 1791-1792.

This photostat copy of the logbook of the brigantine Hope details a shipping voyage to Hawaii and Macau, Sept. 1791-Feb. 1792. The logbook is incomplete. The master was Joseph Ingraham. The logbook includes notes on birds seen during the voyage; a death; equipment and supplies, specifically provisions, aboard the brigantine; and shipboard occupations. During its voyage, the Hope spoke the brigs Grace, Hancock, and Washington, and the snow Gustivus.
